There are many opportunities for you to become involved:

  • Mediate conflict situations involving families, groups, neighbours, employees, etc.
  • Facilitate groups for people who have survived sexual abuse or people who have offended sexually
  • Participate in the weekly recreation program at Grand Valley Prison for Women
  • Become a reintegration support circle member for a woman leaving prison
  • Present a workshop
  • Assist with fundraising
  • Serve on a committee
  • Provide office assistance

CURRENTLY CJI IS SEEKING GROUP FACILITATIORS TO ASSIST US IN THE REVIVE/SURVIVOR PROGRAM.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS - APPLICATION
 
Join the Board of Directors of Community Justice Initiatives as a volunteer board member.  Contribute to committee work in the areas of finance, fund development, building community relations or performance management.  Evaluate strategic plans, manage risk, build organizational capacity and approve policies.  Experience in board governance, working in a confidential environment and expertise in finance, fundraising, organizational development, corporate law or restorative justice are all assets.

All persons desiring to volunteer with CJI must complete a Volunteer Application Form, attend a Volunteer Orientation evening, and participate in an interview prior to attending program training. Following program training, volunteers must also attend a Volunteer Premises Orientation evening as well. Please contact Peggy LaFlamme at 519-744-6549 ext. 208 to register for the Volunteer Orientation evenings.
